What the Site Checker does NOT do

Did you know that your page can pass the site checker, yet not appear in the surf frame for other members to see. You could be wasting your credits by rotating a site that does not show to other members when surfing.

What tha?

The Site Checker looks for stuff that can cause problems with surfing the exchange or could cause harm to your computer. It does not, however, check for whether your page will actually show in the surf frame.

Many domains have put restrictions on where their pages can be viewed. They add code to the source page that prevents the page from showing under certain conditions. The site checker does not check for that.

When your submitted page goes through the site checker process, you are shown the page as it will be seen in the surf frame. Please pay attention to what the site looks like. If it doesn’t look right during the site checking process, it will NOT look right in the surf frame for other members to see.

If you see any of the following in the frame, your site will NOT show to other members surfing the site:

Blocked by X-Frame-Options Policy

Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

Blocked by Content Security Policy

If you see any of these messages in the frame when you site is being checked, then you site will NOT show to other members surfing the site. Please, when you see such a message in the surf frame, click the Report Site link in the surf bar and report the site. If the page cannot be seen in the surf frame, then surf credits are being wasted.

So how can you show such products or pages?

  1. Make a splash page
  2. Make a banner
  3. Create a text ad
  4. Write a blog post

Back to Basics TE Training

When Nexus Exchange first opened in 2005, I held weekly web conferences for their members. For an hour every week we talked about how to use TEs. Okay, it was more like 15 minutes of talking TEs, then we branched into general marketing topics, and then usually degenerated into industry gossip. It was fun while it lasted. I met a lot of people, made great business contacts, formed friendships that I still enjoy today. Eventually though, attendance dropped off and I stopped doing the conferences.

Now, fast-forward 11-plus years, and I’m still in TEs. Lots of new faces have popped up over the years, with lots of new questions. There is much confusion about what TEs do. TEs bring traffic to your offers. The money to be made in TEs is in converting that traffic to signups.

I want to get back to sharing information on how to maximize their traffic generation potential of TEs. TEs have evolved over the years. There are so many ways to work smarter now. Many members still don’t use the banners or text ads, which are great sources for branding. TEs even offer link tracking now.

Conferences are a fantastic way to share information, but there is a problem with scheduling them. There is one of me, but members live all over the world. There isn’t a perfect time that suits everybody. What is the solution? Conferences last an hour or so, but blog posts are forever online for you to read at your leisure. So it’s time to dust off the keyboard and start blogging.

Future blog posts will focus on using TEs for traffic generation and ways to convert that traffic. I promise not to make the posts as dry as the last one about mini branders.

How to Maximize your Mini Branders

Earlier this year, Mini Branders were introduced to traffic exchanges on the LFMTE script. Mini Branders are a new form of advertising created by Josh Abbott, Executive Developer of LFMTE. They easily increase your brand awareness by making use of ad space that is already on the surf bar: 468×60 banners.

A Mini Brander is a tiny image of your choosing, such as a photo or logo. You can upload your chosen image, enter the URL of your image, or use the gravatar photo associated with your registered email.

Mini Brander images from 4 different members are placed on a banner ad. When someone clicks that banner, they will be taken to a page where they can learn more about those members and visit their web sites.

Max Traffic Pro Mini Branders look like this:

Click on the banner above, and you will open a page with 4 short text ads, one for each Mini Brander. You can even choose to add a 125×125 banner image to the text ad if you wish.

Mini Branders are set up to show on the surf bar of the exchange with a frequency determined by the site owner. In addition, exchange owners can generate codes to use their Mini Branders as a regular banner at other exchanges, at mailers, wherever 468×60 banners are allowed.

The site owner does all the advertising. All you have to do is create your Mini Brander and assign impressions. As long as your Mini Branders have assigned impressions, they will rotate on the site Mini Brander banner.

Currently, you can trade credits for Mini Brander impressions at Max Traffic Pro. You can also purchase bulk Mini Brander impressions from one of our rotating login offers.

So look for Mini Branders at LFMTE exchanges, and let those owners work their advertising magic for you. Get your face or logo shown everywhere on the internet with just a few clicks of your mouse.
